The Vision
To cultivate and amplify the arts and creative practice in every area of the university– teaching, research, student life and community engagement.
The “Alma Mater” mural on Skyline Tower in Champaign, IL, was painted by Chicago artist Levar Hoard, with assistance from muralists Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati and Eric “Zoueh” Skotnes

Get to know the professors, artists, and researchers of the OAI. In 2023, Dr. M. Cynthia Oliver (left) was appointed Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Arts Integration. Along with Dr. Amy L. Powell (right), Curator of Arts Research, and June Clark Eubanks (center), Associate Director of Communications, the team works to amplify and support the arts in every area of campus life, in collaboration across disciplines and units and with our surrounding communities.
